Born and raised in New York City, Sifu Aaron began his Tai Chi training with Grandmaster Leung Shum in 1988, after receiving his black belt in Tae Kwon Do from Master Duk Sung Song.
For over 35 years, Sifu Aaron has been studying and teaching the flowing movements of Tai Chi Chuan. He is one of the few first generation disciples under Grandmaster Shum, and has learned directly from him the complete Wu Style system, as well as the Yang 24 form. Upon Grandmaster Shum’s retirement he appointed Lenny Aaron the responsibility of carrying on his system of Tai Chi Chuan. He has also trained extensively in Sifu Shum’s Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu system and has taught at the New York City Ying Jow Pai headquarters, the New York Chinese Cultural Center, Fighthouse NYC, and various private classes and seminars.
In 2009 Grandmaster Shum appointed Sifu Aaron to be one of his six disciples entrusted to the
Board of Directors to develop the future and preserve the essence of Shum’s Ying Jow Pai.
Sifu Aaron has also studied Wing Chun since 1987 under Sifu Jose Grados and Sifu Augustine Fong.

has trained in the art of Tai Chi Chuan and Eagle Claw Kung Fu since he was eight years old. He learned Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan from his godfather and teacher Ng Wai Nung who had two major instructors; Chui Sau Chun and Lau Bin Hun.
In 1971, Sifu Shum was the first person to bring the Wu Style to the U.S.A. Soon after, he founded the Ying Jow Pai - Northern Eagle Claw Kung Fu and Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan International Association. He is a leading kung fu authority and one of the few people in the world capable of teaching the famous 108 locking techniques of Eagle Claw kung fu. He has taught in Hong Kong and the United States for over 50 years. Author of books, videotapes and dvds in both styles.
Grandmaster Leung Shum has taught thousands of students over the years and has made it his lifetime commitment to spread and preserve the beautiful art of Eagle Claw Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan.
